People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is an animal rights organization based in the United States. With 1.8 million members and supporters, PETA is one of the largest animal rights group in the world.
PETA has been perhaps the most successful organization in promoting animal rights and the vegan way of life. Through their Hollywood celebrity endorsements and youth campaigns and flashy protests they have made being vegan cool (well almost anyway).
